I am 58 living in Corpus Christi, TX. I've lived with mnteal illness for 36 years. I am diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder/bipolar type and panic disorder. The search for a respectful and responsible doctor is ongoing. The ones here take advantage of the mnteally ill. You are lucky to see a doctor for 5 minutes every three months long enough to get prescriptions. Then they bill for medication supervision and get paid for 15 or 20 minutes. Doctors are the worst abusers of the mnteally ill. Second only to our Governor and Lt. Governor who have lead the way for massive mnteal health services cuts. Attitudes toward mnteal illness haven't changed. It is just politically correct politicians and liberals who talk a good game when confronted. There is still no parity in Medicare payments for mnteal health treatment and payments for treatment of physical ailments. People who say we have come a long away are deluded. Come to where I live and see the fight for services we must endure. All one must do to see how backward our country still is concerning mnteal illness is to watch TV. The scripts still portray us as violent and refusing medical care. The terms used to describe behaviors are wrong and the actors, guided by directors, still show us as being wildly out of control and mad . True change from the top is needed.
