‘The JV Team’ is filling in today since Adam is on the road. Bryan and Alison are happy to be cohosting, and Bryan gives a health update on the brain tumor he was diagnosed with in 2009. He also thanks everyone for their support, and talks to Alison about a website where your friends can anonymously select your negative qualities to see what other people think of you.

Comedian Todd Glass then comes on the show, and talks to Bryan and Alison about the heart attack he had backstage at a comedy club in LA. He talks about his life since the accident, and how he’s now stopped smoking and has lost a lot of weight. Bryan talks to him about his early stand up days, and the guys also discuss good-looking comedy club layouts.

Moving into the news, the top story is Casey Anthony’s jail sentence, which will already end on Wednesday. The guys then discuss the difference between doubt and reasonable doubt, and a new law that says it’s a felony to not report a missing child within 24 hours. The guys also talk about how to deal with shitty tweets and audience hecklers.

In the last part of the show, Alison brings up the returning trend of men’s watches. Todd also goes on a rant about his mom still not receiving the Subaru she was promised. As the show wraps up, the guys talk about the benefits of podcasting for comedians everywhere.

Adam opens the show discussing a wardrobe issue he had this morning where the tags were sewn into his clothing. He also watches a clip from a British sketch comedy group, which he thinks may be ripping him off. Moving into the news, Alison talks about Casey Anthony being offered to do porn, only to have the offer rescinded. Adam just wants to know where her outrage is if she really is innocent.

Also in the news, Schwarzenegger is going to give Maria Shriver a very generous settlement in their divorce. The guys also talk about Elliot Spitzer’s show being cancelled, and later, Adam complains about shitty drivers in SoCal. The group then listens to another snippet of the Lotzi Tapes, and discusses contemporary anti-Semitism.

Next up, Billy Walsh comes to the show, and Adam immediately takes advantage of Billy’s amazing voice-changing abilities. The guys also commiserate over have to wake up early to do morning radio shows, and Billy talks to Adam about having to sit through horrible pitch meetings. Later the guys discuss the career of Joe Walsh, and Billy talks about a beautiful guitar he dreamed about.

Back to the news, Charlie Sheen is next up for the Comedy Central Roast. The guys also listen to an old clip of Adam and Dr. Drew on the radio, and Adam wraps the show ranting about why he hates having to do media training so much.

Before jumping to the phone lines, Adam remarks how amazing it is that Sonny has learned the ‘Jingle Bells Batman Smells’ parody. He feels like it’s a right of passage, and says that if you’re writing a song, it should be easy to parody. Adam then talks to a guy who was inspired to move his family to Seattle after hearing some of Adam’s wisdom.

Adam complains about people who go out of their way to get a fancy haircut, when it just grows back anyway. He also talks to a guy about the ‘Fair Tax’ and goes on a rant about paying his fair share. Later, he speaks to a guy about sports obsession, and tells him that he shouldn’t live or die by his team. Adam also recalls a few stories from him past, including getting truck drivers to honk for fun, and living with Donny in sweltering heat.

In the last section of the show, Adam helps a caller with adult braces try to get laid. He also talks about how he plans to keep his kinds handy, and wraps the show talking about enjoying cars and tools with Sandy and Donny, even though all of them came to the hobby for different reasons.

Adam sits down one-on-one to talk with Ken Burns about his latest documentary, ‘Baseball: The Tenth Inning.’ It’s a continuation of his previous Baseball documentary, and covers everything from 1992 to yesterday. Adam compliments Ken on several of his previous documentaries, and Ken talks about editing everything up until the last second. They also talk a bit about Mark Twain, and other documentaries they’ve enjoyed over the years.

Ken discusses growing up loving baseball, but realizing he knew very little about the sport. He says that he likes to look at each new project as an immersion into something new. He talks about his upcoming projects, including specials on the dustbowl era, prohibition, and the Vietnam war. Adam finds out more about the documentary process, and the guys talk about some of their favorite baseball moments. Ken says it’s crucial to tell a story when you make a documentary, and especially with baseball it has to be more than just statistics or who won.

After some discussion about the debilitating effects of steroids, Adam talks about his own career playing baseball in high school. This leads him into a story about filling in for Tommy Lasorda to be the Grand Marshall of Mardi Gras, and also an in depth comparison of baseball to softball.

Adam finds out more about a ‘normal day’ for Ken Burns, which seems to revolve around either being on the road promoting, or locked in an edit bay ‘trying to make something better out of the footage.’ Ken discusses how unique it is to have a series on PBS where you can have over two hours of uninterrupted content, and talks about how they raise money and research their topics. They also talk about some of the more complex themes that Ken has had to discuss over the years, and the ‘vow of poverty’ he took to become a documentarian.

One of Ken’s upcoming projects is about prohibition, but Ken says it’s really about right wing single issue campaigns that grow out of control. They talk about smear campaigns, and all the unintended consequences of prohibition; including organized crime, female alcoholism, and all sort of other social transformations. Ken also offers a reason for the world’s obsession with alcohol, and relates everything to escapism. Lastly, the guys discuss the sensitive subject of race issues here in America, and Adam is very impressed with Ken’s opinions and wealth of knowledge.

Live from the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, Adam comes to the stage ready to rant about Bristol Palin’s book, and how difficult it is to actually write one. He also talks about getting pitched a new TV series about him and his wife. Alison then goes into the audience for a round of ‘Q and Ace,’ and Adam talks about everything from keeping his kids unspoiled to the next generation of American soldiers.

Tom Papa comes on stage next, and Adam talks about his experience performing on ‘The Marriage Ref.’ Adam also speaks to Tom about his personal journey, and what it’s like to be ‘anointed by Seinfeld.’ The guys also talk about Adam’s co-star on his episode of ‘Marriage Ref,’ Donald Trump, and how it’s important to stir up drama these days to stay relevant.

Into the news, Mark Halperin was on MSNBC twice within a few hours for calling the President a ‘dick’ and then apologizing for it. Tom says he’s tired of people getting in trouble for things that people say, and Adam suggests that there‘s a racial component to this as well. The guys also talk about airport security pretending like they’re working harder than they are, and defend the restaurant chains in danger of going out of business in the next year. The show wraps with a discussion about Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter war against the sex slave trade.
