Writer, Director, and Producer Eli Steele of new the documentary I Am or How Jack Became Black joins Adam for this week's episode of Take A Knee. Adam opens the show asking Eli about his background growing up with an African American father and a Jewish mother. This leads to a longer conversation on the credibility of white privilege and how prevalent it is in todays societies around the country. After that, Adam and Eli continue to talk about identity politics and how race continues to be a dividing issue not only in society but also in business. Before they wrap the guys try to figure out an alternative approach to reporting racism in the media.
Master motorcyclist and documentary maker Peter Starr joins Adam in studio to talk racing four versus two wheels. First, they discuss Peter's early life in Coventry in the 1940's during WWII. Born in the home of Triumph, Peter began working for the company by the age of 18 and ignited his passion for the motorcycle. Adam and Peter start chatting about Peter's racing history which led him to Daytona, Florida in 1965. Unfortunately he didn't end up racing, but Peter would then be hired to host a top 40 radio show in Jacksonville. They continue to talk about Peter's long history with motorcycle's and how that led him to documentary filmmaking.
