Adam opens the show lauding Steven's book, and they discuss how the writing industry has changed due to a shifting media landscape. They talk about someone other ways this has manifested itself, including the death of the opening title sequence. Adam then asks Steven about the desire he had to eventually become the head of a network, and this morphs into a discussion of how the empowerment of writers improved the quality of television and how important autonomy is to the creative process. They dive deeper into the creative process, and talk about what helps them create, and if they ever encounter writer's block. They close the show talking about how repetition helps people become more efficient in all walks of life.
