Adam opens the show with the announcement that this podcast is going for the Guinness Book of World Records. Larry Miller is in studio, and comments on the current competition. Adam also encourages everyone to tell a friend about the show and help bring the record back to America.
After a rant about hotel lamps, Alison jumps into the news with updates on the ongoing tragedies of Japan, and the occasional miracle found amongst the rubble. Adam also goes on a jag about Alice Cooper and creepy #1 rock songs, and Alison reads another chapter from his fake pregnancy memoirs. Before Larry heads out, he plays a round of the Hypothetical Road Trip.
Today’s guest is sports and business writer, Jonah Keri. Jonah describes his new book, ‘The Extra 2%: How Wall Street Strategies Took a Major League Baseball Team from Worst to First.’ Adam and Jonah talk a bit more about the purity of baseball, and talk football as well. Adam also asks Jonah about the current state of the economy.
Later, Adam goes on a rant about TSA agents who detain but don’t arrest, and Jonah also describes the extreme security he saw in Albania. Wrapping up the news, Alison discusses the cocaine found at Kennedy Space Center, and the sad passing of the last US WWI veteran. Before signing off, Adam has the team research an infamous WWII battle cruiser, and the guys take a surprise phone call to discuss the upcoming Facts of Life reunion.
